How do I cook 2 cans of green beans with ham hock in it?
Fresh beans are usually cooked with shank flavor. I would put the ham with a little water, pepper, onion and garlic, cook covered low and slow for about 1 to 1-1/2 hours (until it is down to the bone) and then add the canned beans just to warm them. if you cook the beans already cooked long enough to cook hock, you will have boiled green. No salt in a first step, the hock is probably already salty.
